Cairns Esplanade Markets

Every Saturday, 8am-4pm, by the Lagoon

The Esplanade Markets showcase local, quality products from contemporary jewellery, leather work, pottery, clothes and skincare, and much more. If you need a gift or souvenir you are sure to find it here! Held against the backdrop of the Cairns waterfront, after the market you can enjoy a swim in the Lagoon, take advantage of the free barbecues, exercise equipment and children's play grounds.

Carnival on Collins

Sunday 7th September 2014, 9am-3pm, Collins Avenue, Edge Hill

A Cairns Father's Day tradition: Carnival on Collins is a must-attend event on the Cairns Festival calendar, regularly attracting crowds of 35,000 plus. Applications are now being taken to be a stallholder at this year's iconic event to be held on Sunday 7th September. Stalls cover everything from plants to arts and crafts, and food with day long entertainment from bands to roving performers and even a dedicated children's area. Carnival on Collins is a great family fun day featuring loads of free entertainment for people of all ages.

Local art, craft, produce and plants are available at a diverse range of market stalls. There is live entertainment on the main stage in the Botanic Gardens and there is also a dedicated children's entertainment area with roving buskers. A featured event on the Cairns Festival program, Carnival on Collins is an ecologically responsible, carbon neutral and sustainable community event.

City Markets

The City Markets are currently suspended due to the City Alive Project.

Holloways Beach Markets

Second Sunday each month, 8am-1pm, along the foreshore of Casuarina Street 

The Holloways Beach Markets feature local crafts, fresh products, plants, second hand items, a scrumptious array of food stalls and much more. These community markets make a great family day in a beautiful spot, you can even stick around and use the free barbecues and patrolled swimming area for the afternoon.

Palm Cove Night Markets

Every Friday, 5pm-9pm, car park by the Jetty

The Palm Cove night markets showcase local, quality handmade products from contemporary jewellery, leather work, pottery, clothes, skincare, and so much more. Enjoy an evening meal and even a tasty dessert (BYO picnic rug)! The markets often include great family activities such as crazy golf, henna tattoos and free entertainment.

Ports North Cruise Liner Markets

Relevant Cruise Ship Dates, 8am-5pm, outside the cruise ship terminal on Wharf Street

The Ports North Cruise Liner Markets showcase the Cairns region with tourism items and local craft products. Cruise season is usually between October and April and the schedule can be found on http://www.portsnorth.com.au/our-ports/cruise-arr-dep.php.

Applications are currently closed and will be reopened in time for next cruise season.

Tanks Markets

Last Sunday of the month, April to November, 9am-2pm, Botanic Gardens Precinct, Collins Avenue, Edge Hill

Showcasing a blend of local art, craft, produce, vintage clothing, collectables and local natural health products and treatments, the markets are a relaxing way to spend a Sunday morning.

Market stalls line Tanks promenade on Collins Avenue, with live entertainment provided by local musicians. Get the kids involved in a workshop or wander through the art gallery – it's all free!

Stall holder applications are currently closed. They will re-open in November for the 2015 markets!
