 Landholder Incentives
Role
 The Pest management section offers information and assistance where possible on all matters relating to Declared Pests in the Douglas shire.
 Develop and implement a Pest management Plan for the Douglas Shire Council. For further details the Draft Douglas Shire Council Pest Management Plan A, Four Year Strategy Priority Pest Species Plan and Annual Action Plan can be downloaded from link at bottom of Page.
 Ensure key stakeholders are involved in monitoring, reviewing and coordinating implementation of the Plan.
 

Responsibilities of Council
 Ensuring that declared plants and declared animals are controlled within the Council area as outlined in Part 5 of the Land Protection (Pest & Stock Route Management)Act 2002.
 Preventing the introduction and spread of declared plants and animals within this local government area.
 Enforcing relevant provisions of the Land Protection (Pest & Stock Route Management) Act 2002.
 

Responsibilities of Landholders
 Controlling declared plants and declared animals on their own land.
