Cairns Regional Council's Environmental Assessment Department (Mossman) issues and regulates permits for a variety of activities. These include (and are not limited to) Sandwich Boards, Outdoor Dining, Goods for sale or dispaly on Footpaths and the hire of beaches and foreshore areas. The area formerly known as Douglas Shire still operates under the Douglas Shire Local Laws and policies.
