The Plumbing Section of Building Services offers inspection services, plumbing approvals, sewerage as-constructed plans and advice for all plumbing and drainage installations in the Douglas Shire. Council's Plumbing Inspector assesses applications for Plumbing and Drainage Work under the following Acts and Regulations:-

Applications are lodged with Council?s Building Services for processing, assessment and approval. All plumbing and drainage work that is regulated by the Plumbing & Drainage Act 2002 must be carried out by a person who holds a current licence to perform the work.

Application Forms
There are two (2) parts to the application form, being "Application for Compliance Assessment 1" & "Proposed Plumbing and Drainage Work 2" (see links for these application forms at the bottom of the page). Both forms are required to be submitted when applying for a Plumbing Permit, as well as three (3) copies of the plumbing plans and three (3) copies of the Onsite Waste Water Report (if applicable). Payment of the prescribed fees are also applicable at the time of lodgement.
