This hyperlink list (noted under Links) is not a complete list of Builders and Architects operating within the Douglas Shire, merely a list of those individuals that responded to an advert Council placed in the local papers seeking Builders and Architects to add their name to a database that Council would provide to prospective applicants. For a more complete list you are encouraged to visit the Telstra Yellow Pages and search for Builders or Architects through their website.

Pool Fencing

Council has published a booklet that outlines the responsibilities of pool owners. By clicking the Swimming Pool Fencing Guildeines link at the bottom of this page you can download this guide. There is also a brochure and information available on the Department of Local Government & Planning website that may be of use to pool owners.

Requests for Searches

Council Currently undertakes Building Searches for people intending to purchase a property in the Douglas Shire. The official 'Search Request Form' is included in the downloadable links at the bottom of this page.

Temporary Accommodation

Property owners may reside in a Temporary Premise whilst building their own Dwelling House. There are regulations in regards to what is acceptable for a Temporary Dwelling Permit. The guide can be downloaded by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page.

Relocation of a Dwelling

Property owners can relocate a Dwelling House from another area into the Douglas Shire. The Policy in respect to the removal and relocation of a Dwelling House is a downloadable file which is also located at the bottom of this page.
