Access and Equity Advisory Committee

PLEASE NOTE: A review of the role and functions of Council's Access and Equity Advisory Committee is underway and is set for completion in 2017. This process is underway for each of Council's advisory committees following the completion of their terms in March 2016.

As part of this process, Council's Access and Equity plan is being reviewed to inform the work of the future committee.

The Access and Equity Advisory Committee (AEAC) aims to provide people with any or multiple disabilities in the Cairns local government area to have input into Cairns Regional Council's decision-making processes.

The AEAC's mission is to enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities within our diverse community in our unique environment through the excellence of service and leadership.

Council wishes to ensure that all people have the opportunity to participate inclusively and enjoy life, facilities and the opportunities that our region has to offer with dignity and respect.
