New access from Redlynch Connector Rd

Current status as at 14 October 2016

This project has reached practical completion. The new road is now open however there will be ongoing lighting works.

A new access road is being constructed from Redlynch Connector Road to the Redlynch Community Sports Complex.

The new road will provide a connection from the traffic signals, between the Redlynch Intake Road roundabout and Larsen Road intersection, through to the St Andrew’s Catholic College and Redlynch Community Sports Complex carpark.

The new access road will be a 10 metre wide, two-lane sealed road and it will be called “Portelli Road”. The project will also include:

  • A 3 metre wide concrete footpath along the southern side; new kerb and channel and drainage works; and
  • A bus lay-over zone on the southern side, near the car park connection.

It is estimated that practical completion will be reached by the end of September 2016, weather permitting.

Disruptions during construction will be limited as much as possible and we thank you for your patience and cooperation.

While some works at the new intersection will be underway over coming weeks, to minimise disruptions major asphalt works to connect the new road to the Redlynch Connector Road traffic signals and the school car park will be programmed to occur during the September 2016 school holidays.

Temporary traffic delays are expected at times, and motorists are advised to observe and obey traffic controllers and signs advising the changes to normal traffic conditions. As part of this project there is also some vegetation removal required.
