Parklands design recognised

The vibrant tropical design of Munro Martin Parklands was recognised as 2017's Regional Project of the Year by the Australian Institute of Architects Queensland Chapter.

The 2017 Far North Queensland Architecture Awards were presented in Cairns on 12 May 2017, with the winning projects progressing to the Queensland State Architecture Awards.

The Munro Martin Parklands project was once again successful, taking out the Urban Design Award title at the state level and progressing to the 2017 national finals.

Designed by Cairns firm, CA Architects, the versatile $10 million Munro Martin Parklands were officially opened in August 2016.

It provides an attractive backdrop to the Cairns Performing Arts Centre (set to open in 2018) and boasts lush landscaping with tropical plantings, dramatic vine-covered arbours and a network of shady paths, a history trail and an open air entertainment space for hosting community events, festivals, music performances and more.
