General Intended Use |
The treated water product for the Copperlode and Behana systems is intended for the highest use i.e. uses requiring potable quality and intended for the general population. The water is not intended for special industrial, commercial or other uses, such as aquaculture, pharmaceuticals, medical uses and other uses that need water of different quality from potable water. |
Users |
There may be some people for whom ordinary drinking water is unsuitable and such customers are not necessarily the intended users of the water. |
Major Supply Systems Copperlode Falls Dam Copperlode Falls Dam has a useable capacity when full of 37,100 million litres. The daily safe yield of the dam is 84 million litres.

Freshwater Supply System The Freshwater supply system includes Copperlode Dam, an intake at Crystal Cascades, and piplelines from Crystal Cascades to the Freshwater Treatment Plant at Brinsmead. |

The Behana Creek supply system includes intakes in the Behana Gorge and a treatment plant.
Minor Supply Systems - Rural CommunitiesSmall supply systems provide for residents south of Aloomba and the Mulgrave Valley. These systems range from bores to creek supplies. Treatment includes mechanical filtration and disinfection with chlorine.
