Water

The majority of Cairns' water comes from two sources: Copperlode Falls Dam and Behana Creek. Many of the smaller rural communities within Cairns are supplied from separate creek intakes.

Click here to visit the Copperlode Falls Dam website.

Approximately 130,000 people and 53,000 properties are serviced by these sources.

Water & Waste follows strict health guidelines to ensure residents have access to water of the highest quality (click here for further details).
