Collection Days

Your domestic garbage is placed in the "green lid" wheelie bin and is picked up weekly. Please have your bin out by 6:00am on the day of collection to avoid any missed collection.

Each residential ratable property is entitled to one(1) garbage collection weekly, a missed bin MUST be reported within 24 hours after collection day. If you experience problems with you bin or collection contact us on 4044 8200 as soon as possible.

Water & Waste can repair garbage bins, lids, pins, wheels and axles free of charge if the repair necessary is caused through general collection operations. Please be responsible for your bins to prevent damage and vandalism.

The contents of the "green lid" bins are processed at the Portsmith Waste Disposal Facility to produce a compost material suitable for use in agriculture.
