If you feel your meter is not registering correctly, you can have the meter checked for accuracy.

Water Testing
The test fee is currently $147.40 for 20mm and 25mm meters. Meters above 25mm require a $200 deposit with the actual test fee varying in cost depending on the meter.
Please make cheques payable to Water & Waste. Return a completed Application for Testing of Water Meters form with the fee enclosed to:

Water & Waste will only refund your test fee if the meter fails the test. Please be aware that water meters very rarely over-record.Apply to get your meter tested only if you are sure of the following:
- There is no leak
- Your meter reading is correct
- Your circumstances have not changed
- We have not under estimated the meter reading on your previous bill
- You do not think you could have used the amount of water billed
How Will the Water Meter be Tested?
We will remove the meter and take it to our testing centre. The meter is tested on a water meter test rig in accordance with Australian Standard AS3565.1-2004 - Meters for Cold Potable Water.
What happens then?
- Once we have analysed the test results, we’ll send a copy to you.
- If the meter failed the test because it was over recording, we’ll amend your bill based on your historical consumption.
