How to pay your Water Bill

Water & Waste provides customers with a variety of ways to pay their water bill. Currently the following options are available:

Online Payment (Credit Cards Only)

Payments Online by Credit Cards

You can use this site's secure bill payment facility to pay by Mastercard or Visa. You will need to have your most recent Water & Waste bill or Assessment Number details handy.

Billpay

For payments by telephone and Internet banking you will need to have available the following details:

  • BPay reference found on your water notice (assessment number - 6 digits)
  • Total Amount Owing (amount to be paid)
  • The BPay biller code for Cairns Regional Water and Waste is 51722
  • Call your bank, credit union or building society to make this payment from your cheque, savings or credit card account.
  • Your Internet banking may have the option to schedule bill payments for your convenience (for example weekly, fortnightly or monthly).
Telephone

For payments by Australian Mastercard or Visacard dial the relevant phone number and have available the following details:

  • Assessment number (6 digits)
  • Total Amount Owing (amount to be paid)
  • Australian credit card number and expiry date

For callers within Australia: 1300 760 004

This is a 24 hour service with the cost of a local call to the payer. A higher rate applies from mobile and public phones.

Bill Express

Look for the Run Bill EXPRESS TM logo at selected newsagencies to pay your bill with cash, cheque, debit card, credit card or American Express

  • Bill EXPRESS reference number found on your water notice (assessment number - 6 digits)
  • Total Amount Owing (amount to be paid)
  • The Bill EXPRESS ID code for Cairns Regional Water and Waste is 829 706
Billpost Billpay Present your notice intact with your payment to any Post Office (within Aust.). Refer to the Payments in Person section.
Mail

Tear off and complete the details on the front of the payment slip at the bottom of your notice. Make cheques payable to Water & Waste. Send payments to:

Direct Debit To arrange a Direct Debit please phone (07) 4044 8200. To pay either weekly (5001), fortnightly (5002) or in full (5000) on or after the due date.
Payment Information
  • Your water usage notice is due and payable by the date shown on the notice.
  • Cheques, money orders or postal notes must be made payable to Cairns Regional Water and Waste and crossed 'not negotiable.' Change cannot be given on cheques.
  • Property owners will be liable for any dishonour fees where cheques are dishonoured. Acceptance of a cheque is subject to collection of the proceeds.
  • The amount payable is the total amount owing which includes any balance carried forward from your previous bill.

Difficulty with Payments

In exceptional circumstances Water & Waste can make special arrangements for customers who have difficulty paying their water bill. Water & Waste can arrange for the customer to make more frequent payments.
