Water Conservation - A Community Issue
Water conservation is a big issue for the Cairns community. We all know that we cannot exist without water, but do we take our plentiful supply for granted, and what about our unique environment?
To help conserve water, Water & Waste has joined forces with the State Government to promote a water conservation program. This public education campaign aims to generate an awareness within the community about water conservation.
Our goal is to achieve a 10% reduction in water consumption.
Cairns Regional Council has adopted a major water demand management strategy aimed at reducing water usage, and has moved to ensure that all new developments be water wise.
