Corporate Plan: Our Future, Your Say

The Cairns Regional Council Corporate Plan 2009-2014 was adopted at the Special (Budget) Meeting held on 29 June 2009. The Plan reflects Council's vision for a prosperous, vibrant and liveable region which balances economic development, environmental management and social well-being. Understanding the issues facing the region and listening to the views of all sectors of the community played a vital role in developing this Plan.

More than 910 written submissions, comments and ideas were generated through the 'Our Future, Your Say' consultation process in March-April 2009 as well as during the 30-day consultation period in May-June 2009, along with a review of key literature and consideration of other factors, have helped shape this draft plan.

This Corporate Plan translates identified community needs and expectations into actions, and sets the priorities for Council for the next five years.  It also identifies Council's values and mission and will ensure the organisation is focused on achieving clear objectives.
