Christmas eCard design competition

And the winners are ....

Each year young people throughout the region are encouraged to create an image to be used on the Council's Christmas eCard.

Hundreds of children, aged 13 or under, entered this year's competition on the theme "What does Christmas mean to you?".

The winners were announced by Mayor Bob Manning on 25 November, who went on to invite the young artists to help him turn on the lights at the Council's Esplanade Christmas Tree.

If you missed out on a prize this year, or didn't have time to enter, the eCard Competition will be back in 2014. Visit this page for more information as Christmas approaches.

This design captured the heart of our judges with its simple message of peace, love and togetherness. Congratulations to Stephanie Moon, 10, who won the 10-13 year old category and the overall prize.

Everyone loves a present! Anekah Jantti, 9, (like most children) is looking forward to Santa's visit this year. This drawing took out the prize in the 7-9 year old category.

Six-year-old Rynece Smith took out the youngest category, 1-6 years, with this traditional manger scene that reminds us where Christmas comes from.
