Request to waive vehicle impound fees

If your vehicle has been impounded you are liable for the cost Council has incurred to remove and store your vehicle.

You can apply to have these costs waived by downloading a form from For Downloads at the bottom of this page and returning it to Council in person or by mail.

Council will not consider waiving impound fees relating to:

  1. Unregistered vehicles parked within the local government controlled area, such as a road or footpath; or
  2. Vehicles being stripped of parts or having mechanical repairs carried out within the local government controlled area, such as a road or footpath.

You must submit your application within 7 days of the notice date.

We will then contact you regarding your application within 10 working days of receiving your application.
