Disability Action Week is held annually in September and aims to empower people with a disability, raise awareness of disability issues, and improve access and inclusion throughout the wider community.
With 1 in 5 Queenslanders having a disability. and disability touching the lives of most Queenslanders in some way, the week is an important celebration to raise awareness and create opportunities through participation of all abilities.
Everybody has a role to play!
In 2017, Disability Action Week will be held from 10 - 16 September.
This year’s theme, Everybody has a role to play, encourages us all to make small changes to create a more welcoming place for people with disability.
