National Youth Week 2017

Youth Week has officially finished for 2017, with new May date for the Skate Jam yet to be announced.  

Thanks to all those who were involved!

A new day for the Youth Week Skate Jam will be confirmed for May in the coming weeks. The new date and photos from all the events will be posted at on the Cairns Youth Facebook Page.

    Hop hop dance, spoken word, fashion, drama, music and technical arts.
    This event will start with a showcase followed by mentoring workshops in various areas of Creative Arts with the finale being a celebration event. Cairns Youth

Young people between the ages of 10 and 24 years make up almost 20 per cent of the Cairns population. That is more than 31,000 people or one in every five people in Cairns (Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2015).

Cairns Regional Council supports youth initiatives in the Cairns area through working with local service providers, community groups and young people.  Council is committed to meaningful engagement with the community to improve outcomes and the future of Cairns for young people.

Council encourages the voice of young people and representatives from local services to provide advice and ideas about how to make Cairns a great place for youth.
