Phase One works completed
- Collins Avenue realignment, involving the preparation, removal and transplanting of trees located within new road alignment, relocation of stormwater drainage and other services, road construction and landscaping.
- closure of MacDonnell Street to create seamless link between Flecker Botanic Gardens and Tanks Art Centre – work progressing
- removal of Tank 1 to allow much needed carparking at eastern end of Collins Avenue
Phase One works to be completed
- relocation of access to Red Arrow walking track from the current carpark to new carpark at eastern end of Collins Avenue
- new visitor information centre
The next stage (subject to approval of State Government funding applications)
- Catering hub, toilet facilities and wet activity hub near Tanks Arts Centre
- Flecker Botanic Gardens maintenance compound near Saltwater Creek
