Draft Amendments on Public Display

The following proposed amendments to the CairnsPlan are available for public comment or purchase from the Cairns Regional Council.

Planning Scheme Policy 4:04:05 - Trunk Infrastructure Contributions Amendment (2009, No.2)

Amendments to the Planning Scheme Policy 4:04:05 - Trunk Infrastructure Contributions for the former Cairns City are proposed. The purpose of the proposed amendment is to increase the use and operational scope of the document and supporting information. It also aims to revise charges to reflect current funding required for development of major asset classes of Water Supply, Sewerage Trunk Infrastructure, Traffic Trunk Infrastructure, Public Parks and Community Land.

A link to the proposed Amendments is found below, along with an Explanatory Statement. Maps and Schedules are an attachment to the Planning Scheme Policy Amendment. However, due to file sizes (approximately 200MB), it is not possible to provide as a download. A free CD containing the files is available upon request. The CD can be posted or collected from Council’s administration offices in Cairns or Mossman. A copy of the Amended Planning Scheme Policy 4:04:05 - Trunk Infrastructure Contributions Policy, is available for inspection and purchase at the Cairns Regional Council’s Customer Service Centres in both the Cairns and Mossman Offices.

Any person may make a written submission to Council regarding the proposed amendments during the consultation period. All properly made submissions will be considered.

A properly made submission must:

• Be in writing
• State the name, address and be signed by each person making the submission; and
• State the grounds of the submission and the facts and circumstance relied on in support of the grounds; and
• Be received by Council on or before Tuesday 26 May 2009.

Properly made submissions can be made directly to the Cairns Regional Council offices at 119-145 Spence Street, Cairns or 64-66 Front Street, Mossman or PO Box 359, Cairns QLD 4870.

The reference number for the amendment is (2009, No.2).
