Vegetation preservation
Proposed Vegetation Preservation Area for the Settlement Areas North of the Daintree River Locality.
Cairns Regional Council recently proposed to establish a Vegetation Preservation Area under Section 12 of Local Law No.56 (Vegetation Management) over all land within the Settlement Areas North of the Daintree River Locality as identified within the Planning Scheme for the Douglas Shire 2006.
The proposed Vegetation Preservation Area will facilitate consistency between the Local Law and the Planning Scheme to enhance vegetation management north of the Daintree River.
The proposed Vegetation Preservation Area has immediate effect under the Local Law on an interim basis until a further resolution of Council is made to instate or revoke the Vegetation Preservation Area. The following documents are available in the related documents area.
