Public notification
The process of public notification and consultation allows the public and in particular, adjoining or nearby property owners, the opportunity to view a proposed development, consider the likely impacts the proposal may have on them and provide any comments about the proposal prior to a decision being made.
Not all applications undergo public notification - only developments which are Impact Assessable. Council has created a Public Notification for Proposed Development Form to provide assistance for notifying adjoining landowners of a development application. It is not essential that you use this particular letter. However all the relevant information must be provided. Once the Public Notification stage has been successfully executed the applicant will notify Council with a Notice of Compliance.
For more information regarding public notification requirements for a development application. Please refer to the Guide on public notification of certain development applications website.
