CairnsPlan - Consolidated Planning Scheme
Council has developed a Planning Scheme for the City of Cairns called CairnsPlan. CairnsPlan establishes Council's planning intentions for the city for the next 10 – 15 years. CairnsPlan was adopted by the former Cairns City Council on the 27 January 2005, and commenced on the 1 March 2005.
A consolidated CairnsPlan was adopted by Cairns Regional Council on 25 February 2009, and commenced on 1 March 2009. The Consolidated Planning Scheme includes all amendments gazetted to 25 February 2009.
Note: The flood inundation overlay mapping contained in the CairnsPlan has been produced for planning purposes only and is not fit for insurance eligibility determination purposes or to determine the extent of flood inundation.
