Council network outages this weekend

Cairns Regional Council advises that members of the public may encounter disruptions to Council communications networks this weekend.

Council will undertake a business continuity trial, which aims to transfer all communications systems from the Spence Street Administration Building across to the Disaster Coordination Centre at Woree.

This transfer will be required in the case of a natural disaster. This weekend’s trial will ensure Council is prepared for the upcoming cyclone season and equipped to respond promptly to emergency situations.

On both Saturday and Sunday (October 13-14), between 7am and 9am, disruptions will occur to all Council-managed websites – including the Civic Theatre, TicketLink, and Tanks Arts Centre sites. Payments cannot be made online during these disruptions.

Council’s after-hours phone service will not be available during these times.
