Lake St improvement works

Streetscape improvement works are proposed for Lake Street (between Spence Street and City Place).
This proposal involves the removal of all shop facing seats and raised garden beds and associated plantings in the transit mall area. These proposed changes will assist in improving the overall visual aesthetics of the street by allowing easier access and more natural light to the areas affected.
It is also hoped that these changes will reduce the negative impacts of individuals perceived to be loitering in this area, including littering and smoking.
