About the council
Four beaches have been closed in response to the suspected presence of irukandji jellyfish.
Palm Cove, Ellis Beach, Clifton Beach and Kewarra Beach are closed until further notice.
Cairns Regional Council and Surf Lifesaving Australia will continue to monitor these areas.
