Add your name to Caroloke Christmas list

Keen carollers have just one more week to register for their chance to win cash prizes and an appearance on stage in front of an audience of 6000 people.

Caroloke will bring an early taste of Christmas to the stage at Cairns Central next month in search of the next Carols by Candlelight star.

Heats will be held daily on October 1-6, with each heat winners to receive a $200 cash prize and progress to the final, where $1000 is up for grabs.

Mayor Bob Manning said the competition was open to singers and dancers from seven years of age, with no maximum age limit.

“It’s never too early to spread a bit of Christmas cheer,” Cr Manning said.

“Carols by Candlelight is one of the biggest events on the Cairns calendar and it is a great place to showcase local talent,

“By entering Caroloke, you have the chance to be a part of this year’s Carols, which is expected to attract around 6000 people.

To be a part of Caroloke, entrants are asked to perform a Christmas-related song of their choice.

Registrations close at 5pm next Friday, September 21. Register via Council’s website www.cairns.qld.gov.au
