Caroloke registrations extended

Singers have been given an extra week to register to be a part of the inaugural Caroloke competition and be in the running to win cash prizes.

Caroloke will take the stage at Cairns Central in the second week of the school holidays.

Performers are invited to sing or dance their way through their favourite Christmas song, with the overall winner to receive a $1000 cash prize.

“But more importantly, the winner will perform at this year’s Carols by Candlelight at Fogarty Park,” Mayor Bob Manning said.

“We’re hoping to uncover some new local talent to join the line-up for Carols, which is expected to attract an audience of about 6000 people.”

Adults and children aged 7 years and older are invited to register for Caroloke and can do so via Council’s website www.cairns.qld.gov.au

Heats will be held daily on October 1-6, with the final to be contested at 1pm on October 6.

Registrations close on Friday, September 28.
