Award winning author visiting the north
Best-selling young adult author Carole Wilkinson will be in the far north later this month to work with aspiring writers and students in a series of free interactive workshops in libraries and schools across the region.
Carole is a multi-award winning author whose awards including Children’s Book of the Year, Queensland and NSW Premier's Literary and Aurealis awards. With over 20 published works, Carole’s most popular titles include The Dragonkeeper and the Ramose series.
- Within the Cairns Libraries Carole will be presenting two free writing workshops at:
Mossman Library at 3.30pm on Friday 26 October snd Manunda Library at 9.30am on Saturday 27 October.
Bookings are essential at the library branch.
“We are thrilled to host this high profile writer. This is a great opportunity for budding and existing local authors to learn valuable skills to take their own writing to a higher level,” Cairns Libraries Manager Kerrie Still said.
Carole’s visit to the region is one of the final major events for Cairns Libraries National Year of Reading celebrations.
This tour marks the inaugural partnership between Tablelands Regional Council, Cassowary Coast Regional Council, Education Queensland and Cairns Regional Council.
