Beautiful Art Spaces available

Local artists, craftspeople and creative industries have the opportunity to showcase their artwork in a vacant shop space under Cairns Regional Council’s Beautiful Art Spaces program.

The program currently has several fantastic retail shop spaces available in great locations in the Cairns CBD including The Pier Shopping Centre.

There are five Beautiful Art Spaces being used at the Pier and in Orchid Plaza to feature ladies fashions by local designers and various art exhibits.

Applications are accepted all year round from emerging, developing and professional artists, designers, artisans and creative co-ops and collectives, with new spaces becoming available throughout the year.

Cairns Mayor Bob Manning said the Beautiful Art Spaces program was introduced last year to support local creative industries by brokering low cost spaces to produce, display, sell, and promote skills and products.

“The goal is add a sense of vitality to the inner city precinct and to help foster small business and development opportunities for creative businesses at the same time,” he said.
