Cleaner Seas Award

The Cleaner Seas Alliance picked up it's second award on Friday, September 17 2010.

The Award was the Engineering Australia Excellence Award (Sydney Davison) in the Control Systems and Communication category. The nomination was a joint submission between United Group (the major alliance partner) and Council for our process control systems on the four wastewater treatment plants. We are now automatically entered into the National Awards to be held in Canberra later this year.

The Engineering Excellence Awards cover all types of engineering and not just water/wastewater. This makes our award all the more satisfying given the large range of engineering projects we were competing against including the Sydney Desalination Plant, safety systems for fast train network in China, cochlear implant technology to name a few.

The previous award received was the PACE Zenith Award (PACE is Process and Control Engineering) for the Water & Wastewater category. These awards have been running since 2004 and publicly recognise leadership and excellence in engineering technology and innovation.
